This morning at the beach…

Looking to my right. Isn’t that a gorgeous place? I love coming here in the mornings to walk the dogs. Some may call it luck if there is sunshine during their walks, others may call it a blessing.

Now looking to my left. What do you see? Same morning? Same morning! Which way would you have chosen to go?

I went to my left. Why? Because there was a harsh wind coming from the left. Most newbies will walk the other way first — to avoid it. I did so before 🙂 But see, after a while of living here you’ll learn that, on a day like this, you choose to go against it first. Why? Fact is, on a day like this, you cannot avoid the wind! There is just no way around it. If you’ll walk the other way first and then turn to head back home, you’ll find it much harder walking against the wind.

Truth is, the sun is still there no matter if we’ll see it or not. We may choose to believe it exists or we may choose not to — no matter if we believe or not, it’s still there. God is good, even when the sun hides behind the clouds in the sky, the cold wind blows and raindrops fall — God is good all the time and all the time God is good! Do you believe that?

Why would He sent such a weather along your way? It rains on the just and on the unjust… We can complain all we want to, the weather is like whatever the weather is like. But, in a case like this, we can put on our hats, gloves and coats, put the collars up and — by God’s Grace — face the weather.

Do you have to be happy about the weather? Who says so? But you can be happy even during this kind of weather! It’s a matter of having the right perspective — knowing the Truth, choosing Life.
