Finding Mr Right

You can watch and listen to them for some time but eventually they will drive you nuts! It’s because you will hear the same thing over and over and over again. Unless you shut them off, they will not stop! I’m talking about dripping taps.

Just a short while back we’ve faced this problem in our home. We noticed the fault when there were only a few drops coming out of the turned-off faucet. We put off fixing it for a couple of days. The problem got worse and worse until we couldn’t stand it any longer and just had to do something about it. What a relief that hubby is good in fixing things like that!

(Not) Married to Mr Right

Our troubles start when we are living in a made up world instead of the real world. The bold truth is that: There is not one person on this earth, nor the perfect marriage, that can meet all your needs (no matter if the needs are physical, emotional, or spiritual). No man will ever satisfy the deepest longings of your soul. He cannot do that. We can search all we want for Mr Perfect, only to find out that he isn’t out there! Sure, God made the perfect match, but that doesn’t mean that the match himself is perfect!

We cannot expect perfection from our husbands, instead, we need to be looking to Jesus Christ and ask Him to guide us especially when things are tough. He is the only One who can understand and satisfy us and who will guide us in the right direction regarding our lives and our marriages. How? By speaking to us through His Word. Some may say it is outdated — but reading it you will see how much it has to say to us and how things will work if we take the counsel seriously.

Beware, the small drops of discontentment can easily turn into a flood of dissatisfaction that can hardly be stopped.

It doesn’t take much to be content. Really! But it requires for us to have the right focus. How could our current relationship have any chance if we keep on feeding our thoughts on former relationships? Do we wish our husbands would be like the characters we know from TV shows, movies and novels? Do we honestly think this is for real?

God’s Word says that: A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. (Proverbs 27:15) The last thing I want to be compared to is a continual dropping or a dripping faucet — It’s annoying!
